NO Restrictive Diets
Diets that are based on extreme prohibition end up generating the opposite effect. This happens because of a psychological issue: when we restrict ourselves from the things we like the most, we get moody, we feel like we have no control over our choices, and our willpower muscle is exhausted. The result? We go back to eating the same or even more than before, and that's why most extreme diets fail .
DO NOT Skip Meals
Skipping meals only has these negative long-term effects:
Loss of muscle mass , because you do not meet your daily protein requirements.
Unstable energy : Skipping meals can cause your energy to rise and fall sharply. The ideal is to maintain a stable energy level throughout the day.
Total apathy , because your body goes into power saving mode, triggering mental and physical fatigue. This leaves you with no desire to train, no focus, and that foggy brain feeling.
Yes to the SBS Method (Slowly But Surely)
This method, called "Slow but Sure," is the most sustainable and realistic. You can continue eating everything you like. The secret is to create a moderate calorie deficit , that is, eating about 500 fewer calories a day . That's equivalent to:
500 grams less per week
2 kilos less per month
I applied this method when I weighed 90 kilos and was 1.72 meters tall (18 kilos overweight). Today I weigh 70 kilos with a balanced body composition and I achieved it sustainably. I also apply it with my clients, and it has worked for everyone who follows the plan to the letter.
It takes order and discipline, but once you get used to eating a little less each day, it becomes easy and sustainable.
